Fun on Friday: With Friends Like This…

  by   0   0

With friends like this, who needs enemies?

Amanda Douglas, 27, stole gold and silver coins, along with other items from her friend’s home, including gold bars, 150 earrings, guns, ammunition, and a container holding a dog’s ashes. Yes. You read that correctly. Amanda stole her friend’s pet’s ashes. Nice girl.

Amanda pleaded guilty to the burglary, along with another crime.

According to a report by a Texas TV station, the gold and silver coins alone were valued at over $30,000. At least Amanda understands the value of gold and silver, if not friendship.

According to police, Amanda helped her friend get ready for a doctor’s appointment. When the friend was gone, Amanda reentered the home and called her husband. The duo then pilfered the friend’s house.

Police got information that Amanda was trying to sell one of the stolen guns. On a traffic stop, they found some of her friend’s stolen possessions, including some of the coins. When they seized Amanda’s phone, they found texts messages to her husband after she entered the home.

You’ll be shocked to learn Amanda apparently has a drug problem. Police say the burglary was to get money for drugs. At one point, sweet Amanda tested positive for meth.

Why did Amanda steal the dead dog’s ashes? That’s not at all clear. But that leads to a little twist in the story that once again reveals karma is a bitch.

According to the TV station, when officers went to serve arrest warrants for the burglary on Douglas and her husband, two pit bulls rushed at them from the house. The cops opened fire, killing one dog and wounding the other.

My goodness – so many stereotypes brought to life here. Druggies with pit bulls and cops shooting dogs.

I mentioned Amanda was charged with another crime. I’m just going to share with you the TV station account.

The victim said he had gone to an apartment on Elizabeth Street in March 2020 earlier to do drugs with Jason “Cowboy” Shelton. He said another man, Jerrimy Gibson, A.K.A. “Fat Boy” Gibson arrived with two women, including Shelton’s girlfriend, Amanda Douglas. (My editorial comment here – this was a couple of years after the burglary, so I’m assuming Amanda and hubby had gotten divorced. Or maybe not.)

He said Gibson hit him in the face, then pulled a handgun out before hitting him in the head with it. He was then ordered to take his clothes off.

When he did, he said he was able to run out the door, and heard one or more shots being fired at him.

The victim said he grabbed clothes from a nearby resident and went to the hospital.

Apparently, Amanda took the naked dude’s car. As part of her deal, she pled guilty to “unauthorized use of a vehicle.”

The whole thing was a setup. According to police, the victim told them the beating was retaliation for him giving information about “Fat Boy” to Archer County authorities about a drug case.

And that boys and girls is why you should just say no to drugs.

After all this, Amanda won’t serve any jail time. She got probation.
